Just Show Up...

Welcome Fall and followers! It's a new season with a mixed bag of falling leaves,
rain and even hail! My favorite season:) However, still counting my blessings!
I'm writing from our office; looking out to the back porch and backyard! The summer chairs will be stacked, our trusty picnic table placed under the eaves, with wood and kindling ready for winter fires and power outages. The ceramic pots cleaned of spent flowers, with memories of summertime, hammock swinging and badminton! All taken down now for the Fall...
Which brings me to this month's blog topic: Just show up! Last evening we celebrated
my sister's birthday! Living on an island, its so easy to cancel because of the ferries, inclement weather, etc... However, with two offers to be picked up as walk on passengers, it's so nice and much easier than driving!
Gathered around the table, (eleven of us), and missing those out of state or country too...Just grateful we all showed up! All in different stages and seasons of our lives.
And sharing those with each other!
I have to admit, I'm not one to speak freely, although its on my mind what I could contribute! I'm a much better listener, which I think served me well as a teacher, spiritual director and friend!
Perhaps this is why I'm a keeper of secrets, conversations, venting and other dialogue I find in my everyday walk with God! Trustworthy, reliable, nurturing, loving! A number 2 on the Enneagram scale, and a Capricorn! With the likes of Dolly Parton and Betty White!
My latest project is writing a spiritual memoir; from my childhood to the present, and where God has been tending and leading...
I am now in the 70's club, and prefer reading, knitting, reflecting and daily taking time in my spiritual space! Home is where the heart is, and I am so grateful...
Life is lessons and blessings! As I conclude this blog, and as fall continues with winter next, let's remember to just show up! Be present! Be your authentic self! It may bring unexpected blessings...
In Christ,
Kitt
