Welcome followers and newcomers! Happy Summer!
The word "Grace" came upon me this week and rekindled memories I'd like to share with you! After my acceptance into the Masters' program at Seattle University, I was in my very
first class: Christian Anthropology! Taught by Rev. Michael Raschko, PhD. One of many papers I was required to write was on Grace! I hadn't a clue! I vividly remember asking a parishioner at church what it meant!
Grace is unmerited favor from God! " It is the power of the Holy Spirit available to you to do with ease what you cannot do by striving in your own strength." JM Devotional: Pg. 179
At that time I was a busy Kindergarten teacher with a fun loving principal who was a catalyst later in my graduate studies! She had acquired a Masters' of Divinity at SU.
Looking back, Principal Carla was full of grace! Popping up unexpectedly at my
door to read to my Kindergartners! I so appreciated her impromptu visits and needed
breaks!
I've always loved God Winks and now realize they have been God's grace! In those busy, fulfilling years, it really was God carrying me through! Especially after starting graduate school, juggling teaching, classes and an added internship as a Chaplain at Harrison Hospital. Yet, looking back all stepping stones and grace!
Perhaps I was on the right path! My passions; motherhood, writing, teaching, education, and spirituality! And at home, a husband who recognized, listened and was there financially and emotionally! Thank you Larry!
I have since given up my Spiritual Direction practice, however still keep my spiritual pulse in check with my prayer shawl ministry and Stepping Stones book gathering! Both, I have
not pursued this summer, instead have been watching my garden grow and writing a "Spiritual Memoir." Wish me luck!
I wish for you many God Winks in your life, and always keeping a spirit of Gratitude!
In Christ,
Kitt
