Welcome! Newcomers and return followers alike... Since we are on the cusp of
Valentine's Day, I thought it appropriate to write on matters of the Heart.
Here are a few questions to get started;
Do I check my spiritual pulse daily?
How is my walk going?
Am I keeping a spirit of gratitude?
Am I "letting go, and letting God"?
Am I combining creativity and spirituality?
All of the above are great reminders of our day to day walk with God. It's
obviously difficult to answer and maintain each one, however, even taking to
task one or two each day is leading and tending us on a journey/path to a
life filled with possibilities, god winks, surprises, etc.
All of my ministries involve Heart. If you follow my IG page, you will notice I recently added
"former" to my bio, as in now a former spiritual director. Through discernment and reflection,
I have decided to forgo this ministry and am currently writing a "Spiritual Memoir". As a former colleague enrolled in a spiritual direction formation class, Laura through texting listened to my new nudges, and agreed God was lighting my load to make room for my writing. She also gave me some great tips and direction for my memoir! Wish me luck!
My Stepping Stones book gathering just celebrated its ten year anniversary. My utmost gratitude to Elizabeth and Haley for its beginning. From its gatherings in my former office in Winslow, to fireside chats here and committed participants offering their homes, we have gathered, read, and shared, while maintaining friendships and fellowship. We
are intentional in speaking from the Heart; in our compassion, respect and listening.
Likewise, my Prayer Shawl/ Charity Knitting Circle is twofold in Heart matters. In our circle, our Hearts are drawn to charitable works. As we knit, we are focused on praying for the
recipient or anonymous donor. As of late, collectively we have knit over 40 shawls. Hoping our charitable knitting circle will resume again. Presently, we are each knitting in our own homes.
Lastly, in creating and assembling spiritual collages, we are drawn to Heart work. What images or words speak to your Heart? Whether it be from a book we've read, a poem shared, a gift from God, or hopes and dreams for the future...
All of the above ministries involve having a Heart for God. Happy Valentine's Day!
In Christ, with Heartfelt gratitude for you,
Kitt
